Tint built for Louisiana heat, not a mild climate

A car parked outside in LaPlace in August is a different problem than a car parked in a dry, temperate place. Between the sun angle, the humidity and the long summer, interior surfaces here regularly climb past 150°F, and the ultraviolet coming through untreated glass is what cracks a dashboard, fades a seat and burns the arm you rest on the door. Good window film is the cheapest fix for all of it.

Quality film blocks up to 99% of UV rays and a large share of the infrared energy that actually carries heat. That is the difference you feel: the air conditioner catches up faster, the steering wheel is touchable, and the cabin holds its temperature on the drive down US-51 or across the Bonnet Carré Spillway instead of reheating every time you stop.

What we tint

Automotive tinting

Full vehicle tints, single windows, front visor strips and windshields. We hand-cut and heat-shrink film to each vehicle, so it lays flat on curved back glass without bubbles or fingers.

Ceramic tint

Our top-tier option. Ceramic film rejects far more infrared heat than standard dyed film at the same darkness, never turns purple, and does not interfere with cell, GPS or tire-sensor signals.

Residential window film

For homes in LaPlace, Destrehan and Luling where afternoon sun cooks one side of the house. Cuts glare on TVs, protects flooring and furniture from fading, and lowers cooling bills.

Commercial & storefront

Office glass, restaurant fronts and retail windows. Solar film for heat control, frosted and privacy film for conference rooms and bathrooms, and security film for added glass strength.

Old tint removal

If your current film is bubbling, purple or peeling at the edges, we strip it, clean the adhesive off the glass and the defroster lines, and start clean. Removal done wrong tears rear-defroster grids, which is exactly why it is worth having someone do it who does it every week.

Why customers pick Tony's

  • Lifetime warranty on tint. If the film we install bubbles, peels, cracks or fades, we make it right. That warranty has been good since 1987 and we are still at the same address.
  • Free estimates within 24 hours. Call or message us and you get a real number back the next business day at the latest, not a runaround.
  • Legal tint, explained plainly. We will tell you exactly what Louisiana allows on each window before we install anything. See our Louisiana window tint law guide for the current percentages.
  • Everything in-house. We are not brokering your job to a third party. Our own equipment and our own installers mean shorter turnaround and one person accountable for the result.
  • Nearly four decades in the River Parishes. Customers from Reserve, Norco, Boutte, Kenner and Metairie have been coming to the same shop on Airline Highway for generations.

Most single-vehicle tint jobs are finished the same day. Drop off in the morning, pick up in the afternoon, and give the film a few days to fully cure before rolling the windows down.

Frequently asked questions

How long does window tint take to install?

A typical car or truck takes two to four hours depending on the number of windows and the shape of the rear glass. Homes and commercial jobs are quoted by square footage after we measure.

What is the darkest legal tint in Louisiana?

Louisiana allows 40% VLT or lighter on front side windows, 25% or lighter on back side windows, and 12% or lighter on the rear window for passenger cars. SUVs and vans get more latitude behind the driver. Our tint law page breaks down every window.

Is ceramic tint worth the extra cost?

If you park outside or drive a lot in summer, yes. Ceramic rejects substantially more heat than dyed film at the same visible darkness, so you can stay legal on the front windows and still get real cooling. It also will not fade to purple over time.

How soon can I roll my windows down?

Wait three to five days. The film needs time for the mounting solution to dry, and a little haze or a few small water pockets during that window is normal and clears on its own.
